As a trailblazer, the Municipality envisioned a comprehensive web-based city guide, a concept ahead of its time before the era of Google Maps. This guide aimed to amalgamate a wealth of information for residents and visitors alike, detailing locations like parks, restaurants, and hotels, stored in various sophisticated data formats.
Ideate
Entrusted with this ambitious project, our team was challenged to create one of Greece's first-ever web GIS systems. Leveraging 'Mapflash,' our proprietary web GIS platform, we developed an application with advanced spatial and alphanumeric search functions, grid-based caching, and multiple zoom levels, all supported by a backend system for seamless Points of Interest management.
